Here is a standout, black strip faced heifer by our Angus herdsire, New Deal. The first group of these New Deal daughters calved this spring and we are very impressed with these females. They have nice udder confirmation, a productive look, possess fleshing ability and raised big calves.0918P is bred to Lucky Man, who was our high selling bull in our 2004 Bull Sale selling to Kappes Simmental for $17,000.We calved 32 calves by Lucky Man this spring and were impressed by the calving ease and birth weights, so we used him on a lot of heifers this year. It is our opinion that he has the potential to calve easy and “spread the numbers ” as Lucky Dice has done. He is homozygous for black and polled plus he does not have the spotting gene.

Creating unique genetics that are similar in phenotype to heavy Angus influence cattle while improving the muscle fat ratio (retail product) of the carcasses is a goal of our composite program that we have labeled as “Lucky Cross ”.In our opinion, the best “bang for the buck ” realized by a commercial producer with Angus cows looking for a composite bull to add some heterosis and carcass value to his herd is achieved by using a second generation bull out of a pedigreed halfblood cow sired by Lucky Charm. There is not a bull I know of (in any breed) that is as significant of an outlier for reduced fat, retail product and rib-eye area while producing functional type females that are fertile and work good on grass. The resulting females are the kind breeders are looking for in terms of capacity, soundness and production.
