New Deal is an Angus bull we purchased that is stacking up very well when compared to the AI Angus sires we have used in the Lucky Cross program. He blends very nice with our Simmental herd and as you can see his daughters have produced some very exciting sons. He fits the Lucky Cross program very well because he provides the low birth, competitive growth, and outlying marbling. The Lucky Cross program was developed because we needed to incorporate more sires like our “Lucky” line sires into our program. These genetics are scarce and we needed to look outside our breed to find them. With multiple-breed genetic evaluations in place like the one being used at the ASA, there are no boundaries as to improving genetics utilizing ALL the genes available to the industry.
